The craft
What the house promises in every book, and prints in the colophon so it can be held to it.
One printer, repeated
We do not pick the cheapest printer for each title. We pick one and go back to it, until the press crew knows our paper, our ink and our demands.
Contract proof
A certified proof, signed by editor and author, before the press. No book runs on a screen proof.
Press-side supervision
The editor is at the printer on the day of the run. It goes into every title’s budget before anything else.
Paper chosen by hand
A physical sample before the decision, and the paper named in the colophon.
Sewn binding
In every collection but Cordel, which is stapled by nature.
Stated print run
Number of copies, paper, typefaces, printer and date. The pesqueiro seal closes the last page.
